Duties and
Responsibilities:
Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters in computer and files.
Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
Maintains client educational material in an efficient manner.
Performs departmental housekeeping duties.
Admits and discharges patients.
Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
Monitoring hospital patients and logging vital signs.
Administering medications to patients as needed.
Placing catheters and performing blood draws.
Restraining and assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Education/
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Registered Veterinary Technicians in Missouri are preferred, not necessarily required.

Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing care to animals - Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures - Prepare and maintain examination rooms and treatment areas - Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment - Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian - Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis - Monitor animals before, during, and after surgery - Provide basic grooming services, such as bathing and nail trimming - Maintain accurate records of patient care Skills:
- Animal handling:
Ability to safely handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments - Dog handling:
Experience in handling dogs, including leash control and behavior management - Laboratory:
Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and ability to perform tests accurately - Kennel:
Understanding of kennel operations, including cleaning, feeding, and exercise routines - Aseptic technique:
Familiarity with maintaining a sterile environment during medical procedures - Veterinary terminology:
Proficiency in understanding and using medical terms specific to veterinary medicine - Animal care:
Knowledge of general animal care practices, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention - Pet sitting:
Experience in providing care for pets in the absence of their owners - Veterinary:
Understanding of veterinary procedures, protocols, and best practices - Pet grooming:
Basic grooming skills such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming Note:
Prior experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are also important for this role.
