Job Description:
Tasks assigned by the Executive Chef, Assistant Executive Chef and Executive Steward, are responsibility of stewards. Coordinate materials and equipment to maintain cleanliness/sanitation of work station, and communicate problems/concerns to supervisor or kitchen management. Sanitation of stoves/ovens, grills, hoods and steam tables using various body movements--including standing, reaching, climbing and stooping for periods of time. Change oil in deep fryer--lift fryer and drain oil, either by lifting the fryer bucket and/or releasing the drain lever on the bigger units. Clean fryer using scouring pad in a circular motion, replace oil. Maintain standards and methods of operation. Follow up on all assignments concerning special functions etc., also check to make sure all kitchen outlets are well maintained and clean to standards. Supervise Steward's department team members; maintain standards and methods of operation. In charge of department when the Executive Steward is off property or on vacation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. One (1) year kitchen cleaning experience.
2. Flexible to work any day and/or shift.
3. Familiar with the handling of cleaning chemicals and compounds: familiar with cleaning of all types of kitchen equipment.
4. Ability to successfully complete the Serve Safe training class
5. The understanding of labor budgets and financial statements.
6. Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines
